This step-by-step guide shows you exactly how to fill in the India e-Arrival Card (eAC) online, with screenshots of each field. Follow these steps to complete your form correctly.
Before you start, have these ready:
Your passport (bio page visible)
Hotel booking or address in India
Your email address accessible during travel
Your mobile phone number
Emergency contact number
Step 0 – Open the Official Portal
Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival – the only official free portal. Never use third-party sites that charge fees for this free service.

1Passport Number
Enter your passport number exactly as printed on your passport bio data page. Do not add spaces or dashes.
US passport: 1 letter + 8 digits (e.g., A12345678)
UK passport: 9 digits (e.g., 123456789)

2Nationality / Region
Click the dropdown and select your nationality – the country that issued your passport. Scroll through the alphabetical list or type to search.

3Address in India
Enter the full address where you will stay in India: hotel name, street, city, and PIN code. If staying with friends or family, enter their full address.
Example: Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Apollo Bunder, Mumbai 400001, India

4Email Address
Enter an active email address accessible during your trip. The eAC QR code confirmation will be sent here. Use your phone email for easy airport access.

5ISD Code (Country Code)

6Mobile Number
Enter your mobile number without country code, spaces, or dashes. Immigration may use this to contact you.

7Emergency Contact ISD Code
Enter the ISD code for your emergency contact person (family/friend not traveling with you). Same format as Step 5 – no + sign.

8Emergency Contact Number
Enter the phone number of your emergency contact – a family member or close friend. No country code, no spaces or dashes.
Emergency Contact Number — numer telefonu osoby bliskiej do kontaktu w nagłych sytuacjach. Może to być członek rodziny lub bliski znajomy pozostający w kraju. Wpisz bez spacji.
Step 9 – Review and Submit
Before clicking Submit, review all information. Check passport number, email, and contact details are correct. A mistake in the passport number requires you to submit a new form.

After submission you will receive a confirmation email with your QR code. Save this QR code – you need to show it to immigration officers when you arrive in India.

How long does it take to fill the India e-Arrival Card?
The form takes approximately 5-10 minutes with documents ready. The Su-Swagatam app saves your data for future trips, reducing it to 2-3 minutes.
What if I make a mistake on the form?
If you notice before submitting, correct it before clicking Submit. If already submitted with an error, submit a new form – you cannot edit a submitted eAC. Only the most recent valid submission counts.
Do I need to print the QR code?
No – showing the QR code on your phone screen at immigration is accepted. Save a screenshot as backup in case of connectivity issues at the airport.
